The Sims 4 continue to grow, and this time we will take our Sims for more vacation options in its 20th expansion. Adventure Awaits introduces a new “Scheduling Getaway” feature, a significant addition that lets players plan everything from quick weekend trips to extended seasonal vacations.
This system allows for more realistic downtime in a Sim’s calendar, including the option to set up recurring breaks.
The “Custom Venues” tool empowers players to build and design their own unique retreats from the ground up. This flexibility means a lot for a player’s creativity, allowing them to craft a cozy bed & breakfast, a kids’ outdoor camp, a competitive cooking show, or a dedicated fitness retreat.

Players who own other expansion packs will find even more options for their custom venues, such as a corporate retreat with Get to Work or a survival camp with Island Living. This focus on player-driven content highlights how the game is evolving to give fans more control over their experience.
The expansion also brings a deeper focus to the lives of child Sims. It introduces new traits and formative moments that influence a Sim’s skills and personality as they grow. Childhood sentiments can now evolve into adulthood, providing a more continuous narrative for each character.
New aspirations like “Cool Kid on the Block” and expanded personality options, including Goofball, Creative, Competitive, and even Evil, are also available. The return of imaginary friends will also spark creativity and provide unique companions for young Sims.
