As protests continue to rage on in Iran, tensions have been growing between Tehran and the West, particularly with the United States and Israel.
With a fear of a prolonged conflict looming, both Iran and the United States and its allies have started taking precautions in case of a direct confrontation.
“Iran has formally told the government of Qatar and has formally told the government of Saudi Arabia that it will hit American targets in those countries,” Prof. Mehran Kamrava of Georgetown University in Qatar told Euronews.
Kamrava has described a possible escalation between Tehran and US allies in the region as “catastrophic” as the US military seems to prepare for the worst.
Experts agree that any attack on Iranian facilities will be met with a counterattack from the Tehran government to US installations.
