Alex Otti, the incoming governor of Abia State, has declared that he will reduce government costs by following the example set by Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, who served as governor of Anambra from 2006 to 2014.

This was said by Otti during an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television on Thursday.

In Anambra State, he claimed, “my presidential candidate did quite well because he reined down the cost of governance.

And we’re going to use the same kind of model in Abia. You can only add so many positions to the public sector.

“Return any money you have taken that is still in your possession,” he commanded. Yet, I actually won’t waste time pursuing actual or fictitious thieves or looters because I will not tolerate corruption.

“I won’t permit the distribution of our funds. I would prefer that our money be put to use helping our people.
