President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to visit Aba, Abia State, on Friday, October 3, to commission landmark road projects completed under Governor Alex Otti’s administration.
The visit is being hailed as a landmark event, highlighting sustainable infrastructure and a strengthened partnership between the federal and state governments.
In a statement signed by the commissioner for information, Okey Kanu, the Abia state government described the presidential visit as historic, emphasizing that it reflects national recognition of the extensive infrastructural transformation taking place in the state.
During the visit, several strategic roads will be commissioned, including Port Harcourt road, which has been designed as a dual carriageway with three lanes on each side and an advanced drainage system.
Other roads slated for commissioning include Ohanku road, Ndoki road, Ajiwe street, Umuatako road, chief Nkoro street and its spurs in Abayi, Aba, and Gabriel Nwosu street.
All these roads have been fitted with solar-powered floodlights, reflecting governor Otti’s vision for modern, safe, and sustainable road networks across the state.
As part of the program, a civic reception in honor of president Tinubu will be held at the Aba township stadium, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The government has called on all Abians, including the Aba business community, town unions, youth, and women groups, to turn out in large numbers to welcome the president.
Governor Otti’s administration has been widely praised for prioritizing Aba’s infrastructural renewal, completing roads critical to commerce, mobility, and urban development.
The president’s visit is expected to further strengthen confidence in Abia State’s ongoing transformation and development.
