Tesla is entering the African market with the opening of its first official location in Morocco.
The launch in Casablanca marks the start of vehicle sales and services, supported by an existing Supercharger network and a newly established local subsidiary.
As usual, Tesla announced the news on social media, this time with a simple “Bonjour le Marco!”, which simply means “Hello Morocco.”
The carmaker also said that configurations via its online configurator are now open. And the EV maker is also setting up a physical presence in the country, specifically in the Moroccan capital Casablanca.
The move marks a further step in Tesla’s global expansion and establishes Morocco as its initial African market.
In Morocco, the Model Y will start at 419,990 MAD, which is just under 39,000 euros. The price is for the ‘Propulsion’ variant with rear-wheel drive and 534 kilometres of range. The ‘Premium’ variant with all-wheel drive and a range of 600 kilometres starts at 549,990 Moroccan Dirham (about €50,770).
The Model 3 ‘Propulsion’ and ‘Premium’ are available from 389,990 MAD and 469,990 MAD, respectively. That translates to roughly 36,000 and 43,000 euros.
Although the February opening represents Tesla’s first official market entry in Africa, preparations began several years earlier. As the portal Drive Tesla notes, the company installed its first Supercharger sites in Morocco in 2021, initially in Casablanca and Tangier.
Since then, the charging network has expanded steadily and now comprises six operational Supercharger locations across the country.
Tesla has also taken organisational steps to support its local operations. Tesla Morocco was incorporated in May 2025 and is jointly registered by Tesla International B.V. and Tesla Motors Netherlands B.V., which manage the manufacturer’s international activities, the portal continues.
The subsidiary is based in Casablanca’s Marina district and is responsible for vehicle imports, sales, servicing and the rollout of energy-related products, including stationary battery storage and solar solutions.
