A 29-year-old man, Francisco Olugba, has been arrested by the police during a raid at criminal hideouts in Enugu State.
Recovered from the raid that took operatives to the New Artisan included quantities of suspected Cannabis sativa, bags containing clothes suspected to have been stolen from victims, 11 SIM cards of different network providers, a pair of scissors, and other exhibits.
A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Daniel Ndukwe, added that operatives also dismantled drug peddling and consumption hubs, disrupting related criminal activities in the area and destroying makeshift structures (“bunks”) used for such purposes.
He said investigations were ongoing to apprehend other members of the criminal network and uncover the full extent of their operations.
Ndukwe reiterated the command’s commitment to sustaining proactive policing strategies aimed at combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
He said the Commissioner of Police (CP), BitrusGiwa, urged citizens to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and to promptly report suspicious persons and activities to the police.
