The Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc (SAHCO) has secured a ground handling contract with Air Algérie for operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The contract, the ground handling company said, strengthens SAHCO’s portfolio of international airline clients and reinforces its position in Nigeria’s aviation ground handling sector.
Under the agreement, SAHCO will provide comprehensive ground handling services to the Algerian airline at both airports, leveraging its workforce, ground support equipment and operational expertise to deliver services in line with international aviation standards.
Commenting on the development, Chairman of SAHCO, Barrister Taiwo Afolabi, said the agreement reflected the airline’s confidence in the company’s operational capabilities and service quality.
“We are delighted that Air Algérie has chosen SAHCO as its ground handling partner in Lagos and Abuja. This confidence reflects our unwavering commitment to safety, operational efficiency and service excellence,” he said.
Afolabi added that the company would continue to provide efficient ground handling solutions that meet the expectations of its airline partners and contribute to an improved passenger experience.
SAHCO said its nationwide operational presence gives it an advantage in serving airlines across multiple airport locations. It is the only ground handling company with a presence at all commercially operated airports in Nigeria.
The company also highlighted its investments in modern ground support equipment, technology and workforce development as factors strengthening its capacity to meet the changing requirements of domestic and international airlines.
According to SAHCO, its equipment strategy incorporates alternative power sources and environmentally conscious solutions to support more sustainable aviation operations.
Safety and operational standards remain central to its services, with the company maintaining certifications including ISAGO, RA3, ISO 9001, SON and ISO 27001.
The company said these certifications demonstrate its commitment to quality management, secure operations and internationally recognised aviation standards.
The Air Algérie agreement adds to SAHCO’s growing international airline portfolio, reflecting continued confidence in its operational expertise, workforce and service delivery.
The company said it would continue investing in its operational capabilities to provide reliable ground handling services and strengthen its relationships with airline partners.
