The family of veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has called for the arrest of a TikTok user accused of spreading false information about the actor’s alleged death.
In a statement shared on Facebook on Thursday night, his eldest son, Leo Edochie, said the family had petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) over the matter and promised a cash reward for anyone who provides useful information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
According to him, the TikTok user posted a video falsely claiming that the veteran actor had died, a report that sparked concern among fans before being dismissed by the family.
Leo Edochie urged members of the public with relevant information to come forward, stating that authorities were already investigating the case.
Reacting to the rumour, the 78-year-old actor described the claim as baseless and mischievous, emphasising that he is alive and in good health.
Speaking during a telephone interview, the Nollywood legend expressed frustration over repeated false reports about his death, recalling previous instances where rumours claimed he died abroad or in a plane crash.
