Kanye West went on another rant on Wednesday (Mar. 5), which included a message to Drake.
Ye posted his seemingly random message to X/Twitter, where he recalled seeing a video of Drizzy floating around the internet. Overtaken by admiration for the Canadian artist, West, typed, “I saw a video of Drake walking through his house and showing he had a library of rhyme books. Man, I wish I could have seen and remembered this when my jealousy overtook me…I love Drake. I’m a say this[…] when I die I need you to speak at me funeral.”
And while Ye and Drizzy may have a complicated relationship, this isn’t the only time that the Chicago native spoke in favor of the Her Loss rapper.
West previously appeared on Justin LaBoy’s Respectfully podcast in early February, discussing the battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
“I was like, ‘Man, you killed my nemesis. Where’s the movies if it ain’t no Drake?’ Or at least he took him down for a little bit. You know in superhero films, maybe it’s like one of the characters like Wolverine or something just goes away for a couple films.”
However, as West continued, he explained that Drake’s “death” was only temporary and that Aubrey should never be counted out.
“Yeah, for now. You can’t ever count out Steph Curry. That man might get 200 points in one song or something,” the controversial figure added. “Drake added something to the algorithm. He advanced it, Future advanced it and now Kendrick is advancing the frequency […] If you don’t really learn, as a professional rapper [in] a sport, what Kendrick is doing, you might be wiped out.”
Elsewhere in West’s unhinged X/Twitter rant, Ye was back on his Nazi shtick, per Complex. The embattled icon issued more far-right talking points about Jewish people and asserted the idea that “slavery is a mothafking choice” for Black folks. “There’s actually some good Jewish people like 1 or 2,” he typed in his rant. “You know who hates the swastika almost as much as Jews… Black people.
Nias more scared of a symbol than they are of guns. That’s how deep the programming is. Slavery is a mutherfking choice. I don’t give a fk about what you’ve learned and retained from the text books you’ve been indoctrinated with those same text books keep you broke and controlled.”
