The Institute of Ecumenical Education (IEcE), Thinkers Corner, Enugu on Sunday matriculated 139 students into the institution for 2022/2023 academic session.
This is contained in a statement by the institution’s Provost, Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, signed by its Acting Public Relation Officer, Mr Godwin Umeh on Sunday in Enugu.
The Institute of Ecumenical Education IEcE is a private Institute of the Catholic Church, situated at Thinkers Corner, Enugu State.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Christian Anieke, the Provost of the school, said that out of 139 students, 58 are regular NCE students, 44 Sandwich and 37 Nanny students.
Anieke, who is also the Vice Chancellor Godfrey Okoye University and its group of institutions, added that the ceremony was the 42nd matriculation of the institution.
He said it was the priority of the management of the Institute to make the institution the best college of education in the country.
The provost noted that the institution had overtaken many teachers’ training institutions in Nigeria and ranked highly by Webmatrics -an initiative by the Cybermetrics Lab, Spanish.
He said that the institution had contributed greatly to the training of quality teachers for secondary, primary and nursery schools.
“The commitments of the management and staff is to continue to train spiritually and morally sound graduates in all areas of education.
“You, the new students should get ready for the task ahead and be determined to achieve your life ambition,” the Provost said
Responding on behalf of the students, Miss Stephanie Okoye, said they were blessed to be part of the institution that had its root in Christianity and morality.
Okoye, who described the Provost as a role model, a disciplined and God fearing man, commended him for his good work in the institution.
