Pecohub The Imo State Police Command, in partnership with the Alliance for Africa Initiative, has successfully retrained 30 Gender Desk Officers—drawn from the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and various police divisions across the state—during a specialized capacity-building workshop.
According to the Commands Spokesperson, Henry Okoye, the training, which took place at Rockview Hotel, Owerri and was themed “Systematic Approaches to Addressing Sexual Harassment in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions.”
He said the retraining was focused on equipping officers with modern tools and survivor-centered strategies for responding to sexual harassment within educational institutions and emphasis was placed on professionalism, empathy, confidentiality, and inter-agency collaboration.
