Last week, Residents were surprised to see one of the newest relaxation spots in Enugu, being shut down by the state Capital Territory.
A lot of them took to social media to lament this, saying that shutting down business will not benefit the state in any way, as it would deter investors from coming into the state.
In response to this, the Enugu Capital Territory, in a press statement made on their X account, narrated why they sealed the premises.
According to them, the premises failed in a lot of things, including noise populaition and blockage of water ways.
While some are still tagging this as a political witch-hunt because the lounge is located just behind the residential building of the current ESCTDA chairman.
Meanwhile,
The documents made available to Press have the signature and stamp of the ECTDA, according to a resident who shared the document also revealed that the lounge submitted all its documents to the ECTDA and that it passed through the normal procedure before getting approval.
This leaves the question, why seal the place since the agency approved for it to be built there, in the first place?
Remember that the ECTDA claimed that they sealed the lounge because they didn’t get approval among other allegations levelled against the lounge.
To be honest, if the place where the building is situated isn’t ideally situated, isn’t there supposed to be better ways to go about it than closing someone’s investment, that is providing employment and paying tax?
Also, the people are trying to build a lounge where people are supposed to be living, doesn’t it seem somehow to you? Would you like to be put in the situation where you can’t sleep because of noise.
