Mazi Ikechukwu Ugwu, a notable advocate of Igbo traditional spirituality, has weighed in on the ongoing situation involving Dibias (traditional spiritualists) in Anambra State following the governor’s recent pronouncements.
In a social media post, Ugwu asserted that any Dibia fleeing in response to the government’s actions must have been involved in questionable or evil practices.
He emphasized that a true Dibia, practicing pure Odinaala (Igbo traditional spirituality), has nothing to fear, as no political power can diminish the authenticity of their spiritual work.
This statement comes amid heightened tensions over the regulation and perceived criminalization of certain traditional practices in the state.
