The Anambra state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on Wednesday, March 25, swore in the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chiamaka Nnake, and 13 other newly appointed key state officials.
Soludo, who performed the function at the state executive council chamber of the government house, otherwise known as light house in Awka, charged them to deliver optimal services to the people of Anambra.
The new SSG took the oath of office alongside the other appointees at about 12:47 pm.
Before then, the former solicitor-general of the state, Ngozi Iwouno, had sworn in the new attorney-general of the state, Tobechukwu Nweke, who, in turn, administered the oath of allegiance on the appointees.
Addressing the officials, Soludo welcomed them to ‘Team Solution 2.0,’ stating that each had been carefully vetted and deliberately selected for their roles.
He described the appointments as the first in a series, urging them to see their roles as a call to service.
“I welcome you all to ‘Team Solution 2.0.’ Each of you has been carefully vetted through a thorough process, and we were very intentional in selecting everyone on this team,” Soludo said.
“The team is unfolding. This is the first batch of appointments, and there will be others.”
The governor congratulated the appointees, describing public service as an honour, while also acknowledging the demands of the task ahead.
He urged them to remain committed, emphasising that leadership is about sacrifice and service rather than personal gain.
Soludo further reminded them of the significance of the oath of office, urging them to reflect on its meaning and use it as a guide throughout their tenure.
He stressed the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and coordination in achieving the administration’s goals.
He also appealed to the people of the state, particularly the families and associates of the appointees, not to place undue demands on them, noting that their primary responsibility is to serve the state.
