Former Super Eagles striker Brown Aide Ideye has publicly criticized Nigeria Premier League giants Enyimba FC over unpaid match bonuses from last season.
In a strongly-worded post on his verified X account (@brownaideideye), Ideye expressed frustration over the club’s failure to pay him and the players despite the 2024/2025 season having concluded in May.
“Because I get money I should not ask for the one I work for?” Ideye wrote. “Please pay me and the players last season match bonuses.. @EnyimbaFC.
The season ended in May, till now nothing. New season will start next month.”
The post, which garnered over 290,000 views within hours, has sparked conversations about player welfare and financial accountability in Nigerian football clubs.
With the new season just weeks away, Ideye’s call-out shines a spotlight on persistent issues of delayed payments and club management in the domestic league.
Enyimba FC is yet to respond to the allegations at the time of this report.
