Social commentator Daniel Regha has expressed concerns about the Enugu State Government’s decision to lease Nike Lake Resort to Landmark Africa Group for 35 years.

In a recent tweet, Regha questioned the state government’s ability to effectively manage the resort and criticized the long-term lease arrangement.

Enugu State govt should’ve been able to handle or manage the Nike Lake Resort. The idea of Landmark Africa Group taking over doesn’t seem a good idea, & for a 35-year lease. So what happens after the 35 years?” Regha wrote.

While acknowledging that the arrangement might seem appealing on the surface, he argued that it highlights the state government’s inefficiency and inability to manage its assets.

His comments have sparked a debate about the state’s decision and the potential long-term implications of privatizing public assets.

Regha’s remarks add to a growing discourse on public-private partnerships in Nigeria and their impact on local governance and development.
