The Federal High Court in Abuja has rescheduled the trial of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
October 11, 2022 had earlier be set by the court for Kanu’s appeal hearing which is challenging the remaining seven charges brought against him by the federal government of Nigeria.
The new date set for the judicial proceeding is September 13, 2022, said Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a lawyer for the IPOB leader.
Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, who is jailed in Nigeria for calling for a referendum on Biafra independence, faces charges including treason and terrorism.
He had told the Abuja high court on June that he is not guilty as charged by the Muhammadu Buhari regime.
