COOU Begins NUC Process for Distance Learning Programme
Pecohub Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has commenced steps towards the take-off of its Distance Learning Programme as the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, engaged the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja.
Omenugha, accompanied by the Director of the Centre for Distance Learning (CDL), Prof. Walter Nwafia, visited the NUC headquarters on Sept. 23. The visit focused on advancing discussions on the proposed Distance Learning Programme and completing the necessary processes required for NUC approval.
According to the university, the initiative is designed to expand access to quality higher education through flexible and technology-driven learning opportunities.
The programme is expected to benefit workers, business owners and other learners whose schedules or circumstances may prevent them from attending conventional full-time programmes on campus.
The university said the initiative forms part of the Vice-Chancellor’s strategic efforts to strengthen COOU’s 3Vs Values, Viability and Visibility while positioning the institution to embrace modern and digital approaches to education.
The proposed Distance Learning Programme is expected to further broaden the university’s reach and provide prospective learners with alternative pathways to pursue higher education.
