The incident occurred at Immigration Junction along the Awka–Enugu Expressway after a fully loaded LPG tanker reportedly suffered brake failure and lost control.
Eyewitnesses said the victim was navigating a traffic diversion caused by road construction when the tanker struck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps responded promptly, while fire service personnel were placed on alert due to the tanker’s cargo. Authorities have identified brake failure as the primary cause of the crash.
