The Anambra State Government has awarded a ₦123.217 million contract for the construction of a “Solution Is Here Model Gate” at two hospitals in the state.
The project covers General Hospital, Okpoko, and General Hospital, Fegge, with the Ministry of Health listed as the procuring entity in the state’s official Bureau of Public Procurement portal.
The procurement record shows that the project was included in the state’s 2025 budget, with an approved budget amount of ₦123,217,218.82. The contract was awarded to Crystal Dove Construction Company Limited for the same amount.
Three companies submitted financial bids during the procurement process. Crystal Dove initially submitted a bid of ₦229.395 million, while Award Global Company Limited quoted ₦253.015 million and Royal Horse Construction Company Limited submitted a bid of ₦240.581 million. The official record subsequently lists the awarded contract value at ₦123.217 million.
The procurement portal classifies the project as a works contract and states that the procurement method was selective, with the award criterion listed as the “most responsive bidder.” The contract record also identifies transparency and accountability as the planning rationale.
The project has attracted public attention because of the amount allocated to what the procurement documents describe simply as a “Model Gate.” The publicly available procurement record does not provide a detailed breakdown of the physical components covered by the ₦123.2 million contract.
The state government previously responded to criticism surrounding the project, saying reports that the contract was worth ₦229 million were incorrect. Commissioner for Information Law Mefor said the correct contract value was ₦123,217,218.82 and maintained that the procurement followed due process.
The official procurement data therefore establishes the ₦123.2 million contract value, but further details would be required to independently assess the scope, specifications and value-for-money of the construction works.
