Abia state government has promised to create enabling environment for investors to thrive in the state.
Governor Alex Otti made the promise at Umuahia during the signing of a memorandum of understanding between some investors who were in the state to develop Aba Commercial Smart City.
Governor Otti who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Caleb Ajagba, said that the initiative aligns with his administration’s vision to create a business-friendly environment and drive sustainable economic growth.
According to him, the proposed project would attract investments and generate massive employment opportunities in the state.
He said that his administration would fix infrastructure and creating the right investment climate rather than chasing investors.
A retired Inspector General of Police, Mr Mike Okiro gave assurance that the proposed project would not be abandoned, describing it as a one-stop initiative fully backed by the state government.
The proposed smart city would house markets, commercial centres, housing, schools and recreation facilities on 140 hectares in Osisioma local government area of the state.
