A South Carolina woman contacted 911 multiple times after her adult son brought his girlfriend to spend the night even though she told him she didn’t want her there.
The Spartanburg Sheriff’s Office said the woman consistently contacted 911 after her son’s girlfriend came over to spend the night at their home in Inman. Deputies responded to the call before midnight on Tuesday and said the mother appeared to be “visibly, emotionally upset, and heavily intoxicated” while arguing with her son. She explained she was upset with him because he brought his girlfriend home after she told him not to.
However, deputies told her that he had the right to have his girlfriend over because he lived there and the couple was asked to remain in his room for the rest of the night. Deputies also noted the girlfriend only came over that night to sleep over because the couple was traveling to New York in the morning. Forty minutes after leaving the home, deputies were called over again around 12:20 a.m. after the son refused to force his girlfriend to leave.
“The call was in reference to a disturbance between caller and her adult son. [She] was then informed that if they continues to call, then enforcement action will be taken.”
An arrest was made after the woman made two more calls to 911 after her son didn’t make his girlfriend leave
Authorities were contacted again at 4:12 a.m. for the same issue and received one more final call at 4:49 a.m. However, the woman left before deputies arrived at the home and were arrested shortly after she arrived back.
Deputies charged her with misuse of 911 and booked her at the Spartanburg County Jail.
