The Anambra State Police Command has intensified efforts to strengthen community policing and improve public safety following a strategic meeting between the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, and representatives of estate associations and non-indigenes residing in the state.
The meeting, held on Monday, October 19, 2026, brought together members of the Association of All Chairmen of 3-3 Estate and the Association of Non-Indigenes in Anambra State to discuss security challenges, enhance communication with the Police and explore collaborative measures to prevent crime.
Speaking during the engagement, CP Ama reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that effective security requires the active participation of residents, community leaders and other stakeholders.
He urged residents, irrespective of their ethnic, cultural or geographical backgrounds, to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious movements and provide credible information that could assist the Police in preventing and investigating criminal activities.
The Police Commissioner also reassured non-indigenes living and conducting legitimate businesses in Anambra State of the Command’s determination to safeguard their lives and property, uphold the rule of law and ensure a safe environment for all law-abiding residents.
In a move aimed at improving emergency communication and facilitating swift police intervention, CP Ama reiterated the availability of a dedicated WhatsApp security line, 09169531886, through which residents can report security threats, share credible intelligence and request police assistance.
He, however, urged members of the public to use the communication channel responsibly by providing accurate and relevant information to enable timely responses and appropriate action.
The Command further called on estate associations, non-indigene groups, community leaders and residents across the state to sustain their cooperation with security agencies, noting that timely intelligence-sharing and collective responsibility remain critical to crime prevention and the maintenance of peace.
The development underscores the Anambra State Police Command’s continued emphasis on community partnership as a key component of its security strategy.
