American singer Miley Cyrus has dropped her famous surname from her public branding, with the pop star now presenting herself simply as “Miley.”
The singer recently overhauled her online presence, changing her website branding and social media identity as she appears to be preparing for a new chapter in her music career.
Her official website now directs fans to a new platform branded MILEY, while her social media presence has also been updated to reflect the change.
The singer has accompanied the rebrand with striking red-themed visuals and posts simply carrying the name “MILEY.”
The move has drawn comparisons with global entertainers who have become widely known by a single name.
Among them are Beyoncé, Adele and Zendaya, whose first names alone have become powerful global brands.
However, despite online claims that Miley has officially changed her legal name, there is currently no confirmation that she has legally removed “Cyrus” from her name.
The timing of the rebrand has fuelled speculation that Miley is preparing to release new music.
Her updated website features a new visual identity, while recent mysterious promotional imagery and billboards have also generated interest among fans.
Reports indicate that Miley recently signed with Atlantic Records, ending her previous relationship with Columbia Records, further suggesting that a significant new phase of her music career could be underway.
