Ebonyi State Government in partnership with the United Nigeria Airline has concluded plans for the Chuba Okadigbo Airport Onueke, Ezza South LGA, to commence commercial flight operation from June 13, 2025.
The Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, Mrs. Ngozi Obichukwu, who made the disclosure in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State’s capital stated that the necessary arrangements have already been made for the smooth commencement of the commercial flight operations.
“It is now officially confirmed that we are to kick start our commercial flight operations with the United Nigeria Airlines on the 13th of June, 2025 from Lagos and Abuja from the Chuba Okadigbo International airport, Onueke.
“Again, the commercial operations are starting from 13th JUNE, 2025. And it will be plying Abuja to Onueke same day and Onueke to Abuja. Then, on the 18TH June, it will fly Lagos to Onueke and Onueke to Lagos.
Mrs. Obichukwu, further, maintained in her statement that subsequently flight operations by the same airline in the airport would be Mondays and Fridays.
“There is no online booking yet as the ministry is under regulations after which it will be permitted to go online.
“The airport is strictly monitored by Aviation Regulatory bodies. The ticket cost is at a cheap rate of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira Only) for Abuja to Onueke and from Onueke (Abakaliki) to Abuja.
“Payments are to be made into the Ebonyi State Government’s account, Ministry of Aviation and Transport Technology, Abakaliki.
