In the exclusive feature, the “Remember” Crooner talks to the publication about his hustle, the language barrier and how he wants to bridge the gap while remaining authentic to his rap lines

As an independent artist how have you been able to navigate the industry and its various challenges ?

It is not an easy task as it is something I have been doing since my debut. As much as there is growth I am still trying to figure it out.

My biggest challenge is how I will get my music to people past the East as there is a huge language barrier and I want to sound as authentic as possible.

The Publication Agreed that the success for JERIQ whose real name is Ani Jeremiah Chukwuebuka didn’t come overnight.

Jeriq adds that he had to do odd jobs before getting his big music break

Who was Jeriq before he picked up the mic ?

I was a lot of things. I have hustled and struggled. I have sold water in plastic bags, and I’ve sold local herbal cleansers in traffic.

The different things I did crafted me into the person I am, before the music I was popular in the East.

People recognized me before the music. Coming into music with my hustler mentality made me very confident in my music.

There is nothing I cannot fail to achieve.
